Texas Christmas Lights

These pictures were taken last night.Something just doesn't seem right.

It was 81 degrees, the kids are in shorts, and the hot chocolate they got in this prolifically decorated cul de sac hardly seemed enticing.(Yeah, that's a hot chocolate stand right in the middle of a cul de sac.)

Today it's in the upper 30s/low 40s and our furnace is keeping us warm. That's more like it--even if we don't have a white Christmas!

I know what you mean. The weather here has been crazy, too. My boys were in shorts yesterday, and now, today, it will only be around 40ยบ. Oh well, at least the cold weather arrived just in time for the first day of winter!

P.S. I love the tree in your first photo. I've never seen one decorated that festively. I guess the old saying, "Everything is bigger in Texas," applies to Christmas decorations, too!

When I live in Texas, I'm going to have a milkshake stand in a cul-de-sac. Even in December.

I lived in Ft Worth for 4 years and I remember the weather like that. It even snowed during the Christmas holidays one year! There were people there who had never seen snow and it was a beautiful sight! Here in Florida it gets hot and cold too. Last night it was 46 degrees and perfect for Christmas but tomorrow and Christmas we are expecting weather in the 80s. Hope you have a wonderful (if not a white) Christmas! btw, I love the Santa photos! Why didn't YOU sit with Santa?!
